The chef behind New York City’s first Korean restaurant to receive a much-coveted Michelin star will showcase a cooking demonstration in Pasadena May 5 by the invitation of the Korean Cultural Center of Los Angeles.

Attendees will see Danji’s Hooni Kim inside Le Cordon Bleu Pasadena, where he plans to show the uses of soy sauce, gochujang and dwenjang in Korean-style recipes. A Q&A session will follow the demonstration.

Kim, who was born in Seoul and who immigrated to England at age 3 before settling in the U.S. at age 10, is a UC Berkeley graduate.

He currently owns and operates two restaurants in New York City, Danji and Hanjan.
