The New York Korean American community is joining in on end-of-the-year charity efforts.

The Korean American Presbyterian Church of Queens delivered 150 fruit baskets to about 20 local fire stations, nursing homes, homeless shelters and centers for persons with disabilities Thursday.

Head pastor Kim Sung-kook said the church prepared the baskets in time for Christmas.

The church has handed out gift baskets since 2001, after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

The New York Adult Day Care Center donated $1,000 to the Korean American Family Service Center’s Rainbow House Shelter Friday.

Funds were raised through a charity sale. The Rainbow Shelter provides emergency housing and social services to domestic violence and sexual assault victims.
