A free ebook library for Korean language study to help educators and students has been launched, the Overseas Koreans Foundation announced Sunday.

The service will make 7,060 ebooks available for viewing on PCs, smartphones and tablets.

Content includes language books by level, as well as books related to the Korean language, history, culture and science, the foundation said.

The foundation, which sponsors overseas Korean students to study at Korean institutions, is an affiliate of South Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Books for elementary school children are available at ebook.korean.net, and those for middle schoolers at mbook.korean.net.

The service is available for 228 Korean language schools in 45 countries but plans to expand.

“Through this new online library, we hope to increase overseas Koreans’ and youths’ proximity to good content,” a foundation source said.

The library was made available to Android phones late December and will become open to IOS users come March, according to the foundation.
