One of K-pop’s biggest stars from the 90s won’t take no for an answer when it comes to returning to his home country.

Yoo Seung-jun filed a lawsuit against the Los Angeles Consulate General for its refusal to grant him a visa to visit South Korea.

The 38-year-old applied for an F-4 visa back in September, but was promptly rejected for reasons that date back to 2002 when he evaded his mandatory military duties.

“I am not a simple foreigner and have as much a right to stay [in Korea] as Koreans residing overseas under the law of an overseas countryman, so the rules of exclusion do not apply to me,” he wrote in a response.

Yoo is currently a naturalized U.S. citizen.
