The Kansas City Royals and the Oakland Athletics will play each other in the American League wild-card game on Tuesday afternoon.

This is the first time the Royals have made it to the playoffs since 1985. In the 2014 season, the Royals finished last in home runs and walks. No one on the team had over 75 RBIs. They were ninth in the league in total runs scored. No one was able to hit 20 homeruns.

Granted their bullpen is regarded as top notch, but that doesn’t mean much if you can’t score.

With a single-game elimination format, the Royals will need a little bit of luck.

That luck comes in the form of die-hard Royals fan, Lee Sung-woo, 38, from South Korea.

Lee visited Kansas City for the first time in August. As soon as he landed, his good vibes fueled an 8 game win streak. During his time there, the Royals rose to first place in the American League Central division including a 12-2 multi-homer win over the Arizona Diamondbacks.

That’s got to be luck considering their offense has not been a strength this season.

Hopefully Lee can channel those vibes across the Atlantic and into Kansas City’s Kauffman Stadium this afternoon.
