World No. 2 golfer Lydia Ko recently revealed her new look for the upcoming 2015 LPGA season.

The 17-year-old wunderkind decided to ditch her glasses and opted for contact lenses for practical purposes.

“[The optometrist] told us when you wear glasses, they’re perfect when you’re looking straight out, but when you are looking left or right, to the side of the glasses, it’s not the same, the distance can look different,” she said in a Golf Channel interview.  ”Wearing glasses [isn't] preferred, especially somewhere like the British Open, when it starts raining. The last thing I want is to have to clean my glasses when I’m playing.”

It seems as if Ko might have taken the opportunity to change a few other things about her appearance resulting in a more mature look.

The New Zealand golfer traveled between her home and South Korea spending a month without touching a golf club — her longest time away from the sport ever.

“That’s probably the longest break I’ve ever taken,” Ko said. “I don’t think I’ve ever not played for a month since I started playing golf.”

Ko will play competitively for the first time this weekend since the switch to contact lenses at the Coates Golf Championship in Ocala, Fla.
