Chinese actress Tang Wei, best known for her role in the Ang Lee film, “Lust, Caution,” will marry Korean director Kim Tae-yong in a private ceremony this fall, their representatives said Wednesday.

Tang, 34, and Kim, 44, first met during the filming of Kim’s 2010 film, “Late Autumn.” The two confirmed they were dating in October last year.

“We first met through a movie and began to understand each other. We became friends before we became lovers. Now we plan to be husband and wife,” the couple said in a statement released through B.O.M. Film Productions.

After rising to international fame with “Lust, Caution,” Tang gained acclaim for her acting in “Late Autumn,” where she stars as female inmate Anna who, while on a furlough to attend her mother’s funeral, spends a memorable three days with a mysterious Korean man named Hoon (Hyun Bin).

Kim is a darling of critics in Korea, but has yet to find commercial success.
