Your next Airbnb host could be G-Dragon

If you’ve used Airbnb, you’ve likely seen your share of eclectic hosts.

But Airbnb’s newest host will top them all — the open-for-all room rental service has invited G-Dragon to make his Deokyang Studio available for a three-day, two-night stay to five select guests from five countries.

The special project will see the Big Bang leader help with check-in and check-out, show guests around the studio and share dinner with guests inside the YG Entertainment cafeteria, where he plans to divulge his favorite places to visit and introduce Korean landmarks, Yonhap reported.

“I’m glad to have become an Airbnb host, and am excited to meet my guests,” G-Dragon said. “I want to gift them with a special experience, share memories of my childhood and introduce the neighborhood I grew up in with them.”

Deokyang Studio is home to the star’s early training days.

“We’re happy that a cultural icon like G-Dragon shares Airbnb’s vision of making the place a closer and friendlier one,” said Lee Joon-kyu, head of Airbnb Korea.

Guests may apply from Korea, China, Hong Kong, Japan and Southeast Asia via the Airbnb website. The stay will begin Sep. 21. Airbnb will provide round-trip plane tickets to foreign winners.

In the introduction on the Airbnb page for the space, G-Dragon writes, “I’m still just a young person following his dreams. I love to hang out with open-minded people and explore new things, just like you!”

Airbnb, a U.S. company that started in 2008, has seen rising success in Korea, where an estimated 180,000 people visited using Airbnb rooms from May last year to April this year.
