New York City’s Korean Community Services and the Korea Times are looking for volunteers to sign up for the 14th annual Youth Community Action Project, an effort to bring together students with a desire to lend a hand to the community.

The six-week project will begin July 18. Volunteers will receive the President’s Volunteer Service Award.

Among the organizations participating in the project include KCS programs like its summer school and senior day care, the offices of Assemblyman Ron Kim and City Councilmen Paul Vallone and Peter Koo, Elmhurst Hospital, Korean American Civic Empowerment, Coalition for Asian American Children and Families and the Asian American Foundation.

Orientation will be held inside the KCS community center on July 6. Applicants must be 14 years or older. Deadline is May 29. Apply online at kcsny.org.
