The latest hospital safety ratings have graded four general hospitals in the Los Angeles Koreatown area with a ‘C.’

California state ranked ninth in the nation overall, but in L.A., Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center, Good Samaritan Hospital, UCLA Medical Center and LAC+USC Medical Center received a ‘C,’ Olympia Medical Center received a ‘B,’ and both Saint Vincent Hospital and Cedars Sinai Medical Center received an ‘A.’

The study, released by non-profit organization Leapfrog Group, rates more than 2,500 hospitals in the U.S. with grades of A, B, C, D and F.

The safety score is determined by leading experts who take into account a hospital’s efficiency in protecting patients from accidents, errors, injuries and infections.

One hundred and four out of 235 hospitals graded in Southern California, or 41 percent, received an ‘A.’

A ‘B’ was given to 58 Southern California hospitals, while 68 were rated with a ‘C,’ 18 with a ‘D’ and 5 with an ‘F.’
