Jae Chong, leader of South Korea’s R&B heroes Solid in the 1990s, is back on the scene as a K-pop producer for the first time in 18 years.

Chong, the founder behind international group Aziatix, has been busy overseas, as a producer for Taiwanese Mandopop star Stanley Huang and Hong Kong singer Coco Lee.

He’s also worked with Korean artists like Kim Gun-mo and Uhm Jung-hwa.

His latest project — the rock trio Royal Pirates, which will release their first album next month — is his first foray into the K-pop genre, according to Yonhap.

Agency AOE said Tuesday that the album, “Run Away,” has a message of overcoming hardship through music.

Chong will appear in a Seoul showcase with the band for an introduction to his music at the end of the month.
