New boy band to succeed BEAST next year

December 31, 2015

SEOUL (Yonhap) — The agency that manages boy band BEAST will launch a new group to succeed the six-member act next year, industry sources said Thursday.

The band, called “Pentagon,” will be unveiled in the first half of 2016, sources in the K-pop industry said.

Although its members have not yet been determined, they will likely include non-Korean members.

Pentagon will be the first boy band produced by Cube Entertainment in four years. Cube launched BEAST in 2009, followed by BTOB, a seven-member act, in 2012.

The sources also said the new group will include members who not only sing but are able to produce music.
