Grace Lee, a 22-year-old fourth-year pharmacy student at Rutgers University, has caught the attention of more than 5.3 million viewers for her rendition of the hit track from Disney’s “Frozen.”

Lee, who uploaded the cover in December last year, placed No. 3 in a contest of the best “Let It Go” YouTube covers conducted by poll on Ryan Seacrest’s website on Friday.

The poll had a survival process from an initial pool of 25 covers from around the world.

She said she uploads covers onto her YouTube channel as a hobby and didn’t think she’d come in third in the cover contest.

The video was recorded her her room and the only equipment she used was the microphone bought for her by her parents, she said.

Even before the contest, her cover of the song was ranked No. 1 by VH1.com and placed No. 6 in number of views by Entertainment Weekly in March. She was also invited to sing “Let It Go” at Times Square in New York by ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

In 2006, a then-14-year-old Lee came in first at S.M. Entertainment auditions in the U.S. and also won JYP Entertainment’s U.S. auditions in 2008.

Although she’s been receiving calls from the media and music management companies, she said she wants to focus on completing her degree first.

If the chance comes, she wants to become a singer who sings her own songs in the future, she said.
