Los Angeles Dodgers’ Korean pitcher Ryu Hyun-jin lost out on a chance to become the third 10-game winner in the National League this season Friday night at the Dodger Stadium.

Ryu (9-4) lost for only the second time in eight starts, as he was charged with three runs over seven innings against the St. Louis Cardinals. He truck out seven and walked only one, but allowed too many (9) hits, including two to the opposing pitcher Carlos Martinez.

Ryu also served up a solo home run to Yadier Molina in the fourth inning, as his ERA went up from 3.06 to 3.12, and the Dodgers (45-37) fell 3-1 to the Cardinals (44-37).

Cardinals shortstop Jhonny Peralta was credited with hitting the game-winning two-run double in the fifth inning, but that ball could have been caught by center fielder Scott Van Slyke. He appeared to pull up while pursuing the ball when he saw right fielder Yasiel Puig coming his way.
