Korean culture seminar at USC attracts educators from around US

The University of Southern California’s Korean Studies Institute and the Korea Academy for Education is hosting about 50 educators from elementary, middle and high schools around the country this week for its annual summer seminar on Korean history and culture.

The seminar, which aims to educate teachers passionate about Korean culture, kicked off Monday and will end Friday.

Teachers will complete workshops and visit Koreatown, theKorean art exhibit at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Korean Cultural Center, all the while learning more about the Korean language, North-South relations, art and the Korean American community.

“We put on this event after learning that many teachers around the country are interested in exploring Korean culture and tradition to better teach Korean students,” KAFE said.
