Korean soccer player Ki Sung-yueng, 26, was voted Swansea City’s Player of the Year for 2014-15.

Swansea City, an English Premier League team, said Wednesday Ki was named Player of the Year by supporters after a solid season under Swansea manager Garry Monk.

“Swansea City has been the best team of my life,” Ki said at an awards ceremony at Liberty Stadium in Swansea, Wales.

Ki, who returned from a Sunderland loan by former Swansea manager Michael Laudrup in January 2014, demonstrated that he is a key member of the squad, with eight goals in 36 appearances.

Meanwhile, Ki will sit out the rest of the season after having undergone arthroscopic knee surgery. Swansea noted that Ki is expected to return in the next pre-season.
