A New York organization seeking to build a shelter for the homeless is putting on a fundraising dinner concert Dec. 15 inside Daedong Manor in Flushing.

“After the financial crisis in 2008, the Korean homeless population has been rising sharply, but they have not had appropriate facilities,” said Park Sung-won, president of House of Sharing New York.

“We want to share neighborly love with the Korean homeless by giving them a home, so we’re hoping that the Korean American community participates in this event.”

“Superstar K3″ alum Christina Lee is scheduled to perform, as well as Randy Brooks from the musical “His Life,” gukak singer Kim Chang-sook, CBSN choir, a local traditional dance company and the New York Classical Symphony Orchestra Ensemble.
