Major League Baseball gave American League Player of the Month honors to Texas Rangers outfielder Choo Shin-soo.

The South Korean veteran has come a long way since the beginning of the season after one of the most dismal offensive starts in the Rangers’ franchise history.

Choo touted a .387/.500/.613 slashline with 30 runs, 46 hits and 23 RBIs in the month of September.

It’s the perfect time for the 33-year-old to get hot as the Rangers prepare to square off against the Toronto Blue Jays in the American League Division Series.

It will be his second appearance in the playoffs and his first ever in a divisional series.
