Asian Games: Quadruple-double day for South Korea

Kim Jae-bum, Jung Jin-sun, Lee Ra-jin, Hwang Young-shik all win second gold medal

On the fourth day of the Incheon Asian Games, four South Korean athletes became double gold medal winners.

Judo’s Kim Jae-bum, the winner of the men’s 81㎏ weight class, was the first to wear two gold medals around his neck on Tuesday, thanks to the first-ever team competition in Judo.

South Korea defeated Kazakhstan 4-1 in the final to win the team gold, and that made Kim the first-ever double gold medalist in Judo.

In fencing, Jung Jin-sun and Lee Ra-jin each earned the team gold, in addition to their individual gold, as the South Korean Men’s epee team and the women’s sabre team both proved their dominance once again.

In equestrian, Hwang Young-shik became South Korea’s first two-time double gold medal winner.
