The Suwon prosecutor’s office in South Korea has requested an arrest warrant for singer Kye Eun-sook, 53, on charges of using methamphetamine on three occasions.

The singer was arrested by a narcotics squad in Japan in November 2007 for drug possession and sentenced to 18 months in prison and three years of probation.

Kye returned to South Korea a year after, and resumed her singing activities in February last year but once again faced prosecution for failing to make payments on a leased high-end foreign vehicle in August.

Kye debuted in 1977 as a commercial model and later made hits of songs like “Woman’s Heart Waiting” and “Singing and Dancing.” In 1985, she debuted in Japan with “Maternal Love of Osaka.”
