“Snowpiercer” opens L.A. Film Fest

Director Bong Joon-ho’s “Snowpiercer” had its first U.S. showing Wednesday night as the kickoff film of the 20th Los Angeles Film Festival.

The red-carpet event drew Bong and some of the film’s stars, including Ed Harris, Tilda Swinton, Song Kang-ho, Alison Pill and Go Ah-sung, to Regal Cinema at L.A. Live.

The film, set in a post-apocalyptic world in which all of humanity’s survivors live in a class-divided train, also stars Chris Evans, John Hurt, Octavia Spencer and Jamie Bell.

“Snowpiercer,” which was released last year in Korea, will have a limited theatrical release in the U.S. on June 27.
