How many Korean American kids do you see playing big-name college football?

The answer, for now, is “very few,” with exceptions like college standouts like first-round NFL pick Eugene Chung — now the Kansas City Chiefs’ offensive line assistant — and John Lee, the UCLA kicker who was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in 1986.

Two Korean American high school seniors are looking to change that.

Kaleb Kim, who has committed to Auburn University from Mill Creek High School in Hoschton, Ga., played in the annual All-American Bowl last weekend.

The U.S. Army All-American Bowl is the nation’s premier high school All-American game, featuring the best 90 players in an annual East vs. West matchup every January in San Antonio’s Alamodome. The game has featured the nation’s most elite football players, including: Andrew Luck (Indianapolis Colts), Jamaal Charles (Chiefs), DeMarco Murray (Dallas Cowboys),Patrick Peterson (Arizona Cardinals), LeSean McCoy (Philadelphia Eagles), Sammy Watkins (Buffalo Bills), and hundreds more.

The 6-foot-4, 285-pound offensive lineman was No. 231 on ESPN’s high school football Top 300 elites ranking and received offers from Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Ohio State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Boston College.

Kim’s father, John Kim, immigrated to the U.S. with his family as a child and also played high school football.

Kim has been on the team since freshman year and always looks out for his teammates, coach Sharon Jarvis said.

Justin Yoon, a Notre Dame-bound kicker from Milton Academy in Milton, Mass., was chosen to play in the Under Armour All-America Game in St. Petersburg, Fla., on Jan. 2.

Yoon, at 5-foot-11 and 185 pounds, was rated No. 1 by recruiting expert 247Sports for kickers in the class of 2015.

Born in Ohio, Yoon is a former soccer player.

I enjoyed your on the next elite level Korean-American college football players.
Please keep your eye on another up and coming Korean football player who is already being recruited by the University of Utah (PAC12) as a sophomore.
