Low-cost music lessons for elderly to begin for Philly Koreans

September 22, 2015

Symphony Music of Philadelphia is opening a “Silver Music Classroom” for the elderly beginning Oct. 5, inviting locals to come out for instrument lessons.

“Until now, it hasn’t been easy for the elderly to learn how to play instruments even if they wanted to because of high costs and lack of institutions,” said Kim Tae-hoon, Symphony Music conductor and head.

One-hour-a-week lessons on saxophone, guitar and vocals are available at $100 for 10 weeks.

The classroom plans to hold a concert after the 10 weeks.
