The 300 block of Ardmore Avenue in Los Angeles’ Koreatown was shaken Wednesday morning by a drug lab explosion inside an apartment.
Windows blew out around 8:50 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department. No one was injured.
Firefighters and the narcotics unit arrived at the scene to investigate. Police said the incident was the result of a “narcotics operation mishap.”
A woman, suspected of having caused the incident, was taken into custody.
Her next-door neighbor, identified as Kim, said he heard a loud noise that morning and was startled to find broken windows. Other neighbors said two women, including the one taken by police, moved into the unit less than a month ago. They reported strange smells coming from the apartment.
Kim and others in the area were evacuated by police.
