Choo Shin Soo is in Los Angeles to help feed needy families this Thanksgiving.

The 31-year old Major League free agent outfielder has an endorsement contract with Hanmi Bank and participated in the bank’s community service programs on Friday. Choo and Hanmi Bank volunteers visited the Korean Youth and Community Center to spend some valuable time with local children.

Hanmi Bank and Choo distributed turkeys and hams to about 80 people, along with piggy banks and school supplies. Choo also signed baseballs and other sports memorabilia for children.

“I went through some hard times when I was a child and because I am a father also, I seem to identify with children in need a little more,” said Choo.

As one of the hottest commodities currently in the Major League free agent market, Choo is expected to sign a contract in excess of $100 million this winter.
