2015 likely to become the warmest year on record

November 18, 2015

When 2015 ends in about a month, it is expected to have been the warmest year on record, according to the latest report from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

This year’s October ran 0.22 degrees above last year’s, which also broke the record, and 1.55 degrees above the 20th century average, NOAA said.

The NOAA report said eight out of 10 months this year have broken records for warmth.

World temperature records have been kept since 1880.

Experts are pointing to El Nino as a cause of rising temperatures.
