What do Koreans Google most?

Guess what the three most-Googled words are in Korea.

To the disappointment of some, they don’t include a K-pop stars’ names or fancy goods. Two of them are portals.

Naver is No. 1 and Daum No. 3, according to the Google Trend website, Thursday.

Data also showed that people turn to Google for free downloads and porn.

Illegal file-sharing and downloading site Torrent was second, while the largest domestic porn site, minkeynet, was fourth.

In every 100 Naver searches, minkeynet was searched 15 times.

The other most-searched words in 2014 were weather, online retailers Auction and Gmarket, secondhand automobile shopping mall Bobaedream, the animated film “Frozen,” social commerce site Coupang, part-time job portal Alba Heaven, online retailer 11st, community portal for discounted smartphones Ppomppu and the largest domestic video game community, Ruliweb.

Google excludes keywords related to sex on its search rankings.

The sunken ferry Sewol, former figure skater Kim Yuna, the blockbuster “Snowpiercer,” MBC’s reality show “Infinite Challenge” and the iPhone 6 were also popular searches.
