The Kansas City Royals may no longer be underdogs going into the 2015 major league postseason, but even the best teams should take every advantage they can get.

The franchise’s greatest off-the-field asset last year might have been Korean Karma, otherwise known as South Korean super fan Lee Sung-woo.

From almost 6,000 miles away, he would watch games late at night when the rest of his country was asleep. His optimism for the once-ailing club caught the attention of the team and fans alike. So they brought him over to the states during the 2014 season to attend a handful of games.

The Royals began to play like one of the best teams in baseball. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not.

It’s not known if Lee will be back to root on his team in person, but ESPN just released a 22-minute film on his time spent in Kansas City just last year.
