“The Throne,” also known as “Sado” in South Korea, was awarded Best Film at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia last week.

The $10,600 prize will be donated back to Black Nights by Director Lee Joon-ik and producer Tiger Pictures to help it “become a new European hub to create cinematic joy and fun,” according to Screen Daily.

The film also won Best Music at Tallinn.

Released in September and starring top actors Song Kang-ho and Yoo Ah-in, “The Throne” was one of the biggest box office hits of the year in South Korea and chosen as the country’s 2015 Oscar submission.

The pic is based on a popular historical story about a king who sentences his son, Crown Prince Sado, to death by starvation inside a rice chest.
