With guys like Scott Piercy and Justin Thomas posting 10-under and 11-under rounds, respectively, it makes sense that most of the other players get lost in the shuffle even when they’re playing well.

But Korean Americans Kevin Na and James Hahn quietly climbed up the leaderboard Friday with solid performances of their own at the CIMB Classic in Malaysia.

Na got off to a quick start after opening with back-to-back birdies. He finished strong on the back nine with three birdies and no bogeys, something he’s struggled with in his last few rounds.

He shot a 6-under 66 with an 11-under total. That puts him in a tie for seventh place as he enters the weekend.

Na is coming off of two consecutive second place finishes and expressed a little bit of frustration despite the strong showings.

James Hahn followed up his opening round with a bogey-free 7-under 65. The 33-year-old went on a scoring rampage on the back nine, which yielded five birdies in his first six holes.

He’s sitting at 9-under for the tournament and is tied for 12th.

Justin Thomas is the leader at 15-under.
