Lee Ann Kim, 45, was awarded Person of the Year by the Korea Creative Content Agency’s DARI Awards Monday.

According to KOCCA, the award is given to those who contribute to the introduction of Korean cultural contents to the American market.

Kim, the founder and head of the San Diego Asian Film Festival, is a former ABC-KGTV news anchor and previous Emmy Award winner.

The festival, established in 2000 with the Asian American Journalists Association, has introduced a handful of South Korean films each year.

The DARI Awards, now in its 11th year, will be held at the Korean Cultural Center of Los Angeles Friday.
