A New York Korean apparel manufacturers association is joining hands with Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, to bring a Korean fashion festival to New York City next March.

According to the Korean Apparel Manufacturers Association of Greater New York (KAMANY) Tuesday, the fashion show — with the support of Gyeonggi’s textile promotion center — will highlight new designers in a fashion show, select scholarship students and provide a networking space.

Kyle Heo, vice president of KAMANY, said scholarships will be given through a competition inviting students to create projects using Korean materials provided by Gyeonggi businesses.

Undergraduate or graduate students in fashion-related majors may apply, KAMANY said.

The application deadline is Jan. 1. Six students will share a $12,000 scholarship. KAMANY said it plans to post announcements at FIT and Parsons School of Design this month.
