Korean Americans selling illegally obtained painkillers in South Korea via Craigslist have been caught by Seoul police.

A, a 33-year-old U.S. citizen, was arrested on charges of selling Oxycontin and Fentanyl acquired by prescription from hospitals on the online marketplace. Three others are in custody, according to Seoul Mapo police.

A, an English teacher at an after-school institution for elementary students, is accused of going to three separate hospitals between November last year to March for prescription drugs, as well as buying from 44-year-old B, to make 70 online transactions that netted him approximately $4,800.

After posting listings on the site, A would allegedly receive inquiries — mostly from international students studying in Korea or Korean Americans — and sell the drugs near Seoul subways, including in Gangnam District.
