Pittsburgh Pirates infielder Kang Jung-ho went 2-for-4 on Wednesday with a double in a 3-0 shutout loss to the Cincinnati Reds.

He was the only Pirate to manage multiple hits against the Reds pitching staff.

Kang’s batting average rose to a respectable .289 with one home run and seven RBIs in 38 plate appearances this season.

He started at shortstop in place of Jordy Mercer who is batting .191 with zero home runs, four RBIs in 79 plate appearances.

The Pirates will play the Reds again in the final game of a three-game series at home in PNC Park.
