Matt Kemp is going to San Diego Padres.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are trading outfielder Matt Kemp to the San Diego Padres.

The 30-year-old Kemp will be traded to the Padres with back-up catcher Tim Federowicz, 27, according to various reports on Thursday.

In exchange the Dodgers would take  26-year-old Padres catcher Yasmani Grandal and two pitching prospects — Zach Eflin and Joe Wieland. According to some scouts, Grandal provides much better target for pitchers than A.J.Ellis and showed some power by hitting 15 home runs last year.

The Dodgers will also reportedly pay $32 million of the $107 million over five years remaining on Kemp’s contract.

The deal is expected to be finalized today before the conclusion of baseball’s Winter Meetings in San Diego.
