Records his first preseason hit, RBI, and run

By Lee Kyutae

The Texas Rangers’ $130 million acquisition Choo Shin-soo is slowly hitting his stride. After going 0-for-2 in each of the first three preseason games he played in, and missing two other games with arm pain, Choo has now reached based in three straight games.

Choo followed his first walk on Monday, and first hit and run batted in (RBI) on Tuesday, with another hit and the first run on Wednesday. Choo is now 2-for-12 with one run batted in and one run scored this spring.

Choo entered the game against the Colorado Rockies in Surprise stadium in Arizona as the leadoff hitter and a left-fielder, and immediately got on board. He smacked Franklin Morales’ fourth pitch right up the middle, advanced to third on Morales’ throwing error, and scored for the first time this spring on Prince Fielder’s single.

Choo also hit the ball well in the third inning, but right at the second baseman, and struck out in the fifth.

The Rangers allowed six runs in sixth inning to lose 2-8.
