Choo Shin-soo got on base for the first time this preseason on Monday.

The 31-year old Korean outfielder received a seven-year, $130 million contract during the off season to join the Texas Rangers, but has yet to get a base hit in three preseason games. He went 0-for-2 for two straight days, and then missed next two games with pain in his left arm.

He returned to the line up on Monday to face one of his former teams, the Cleveland Indians, and went 0-for-2 again, but did manage to get a walk.

The Rangers went on to lose 5-6.

Choo said after the game that his arm felt fine, and that he would have played if it was it had been a regular season game.

Los Angeles Angels catcher Hank Conger (Korean name Choi Hyun) went 0-for-3 for a second straight game, but Seattle Mariners prospect Choi Ji-man got his third hit on Monday. His first extra-base hit raised his preseason batting average to .429.
