Korean fashion model Choi So-ra was named the top Asian model to grace the runway at the 2016 Fall/Winter New York Fashion Week held Feb. 11-18.

According to Models.com, one of the most influential fashion news sites, Choi was ranked the fourth most popular model at the renowned fashion show after Lia Pavlova (Russia), Odette Pavlova (Russia) and Lineisy Montero (Dominican Republic).

“I don’t know what to say…I am just happy that I am doing what I love. I am glad that I am walking more shows,” Choi told The Korea Times.

The Korean model, managed by YGKPLUS, walked a total of 17 shows for some of the world’s most renowned fashion names, including Alexander Wang, Marc Jacobs, Coach, Vera Wang and Proenza Schouler during the fashion event in New York.

Choi joined the ranks of top models for her charismatic and firm stride, lauded by fashion audiences at the event.

The high-fashion model was named among 10 newcomers to watch for by the same news site in 2014, making her name at some of 2015′s top fashion shows during the spring and summer (s/s) collections. They include classic French luxury brand Louis Vuitton whose creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere handpicked Choi to walk exclusively at the Paris Fashion Week that season. Choi has also walked for Calvin Klein, Fendi and Bottega Veneta.

Choi recently appeared in a 2016 S/S global campaign for Coach and Marc Jacobs.

The second-highest-ranked Korean female runway model according to Models.com is Kwak Ji-young followed by Hong Ji-su.
