South Korea’s Salvation Army said it brought in more than 6.3 billion won (US$5.97 million) through its annual red kettle campaign in December, which is all-time high since their operation began back on 1928 in Korea.

The Salvation Army Korea Territory collected the money through its year-end street, online, ARS and other campaigns, which closed on Tuesday.

Although the street collection is over, the charity will continue to receive donations for the 2013-2014 campaign that ends Oct. 31 this year, with the goal of collecting 10 billion won.
