A traditional Asian music concert unfolded inside Oakland Asian Culture Center in San Francisco Saturday.

“Elements of Rhythm: Drums of Asia” had five teams showcasing the sounds of Korea, China, Japan, India and the Philippines to a crowd of about 300 people.

OngDance Co., headed by dancer Kyongil Ong, performed “the sounds of Korea” to bring together traditional Korean instruments.

The concert was organized by San Francisco’s Korean Traditional Performing Arts Center and OACC, and sponsored by the Consulate General, the Overseas Koreans Foundation and the Korea Times.
