Korean American beauty supply industry leaders in the Northeast U.S. gathered Monday to form NFBS.

Korean American leaders of the beauty supply industry in the Northeast region came together Monday to form a new council.

Seven organizations, including the Beauty Supply Association of Greater New York and those from New Jersey, Washington, D.C., Southern Virginia, Richmond, Pennsylvania and central Pennsylvania, met in Philadelphia for the start of the NFBS.

Kim Sung Yi Sik, president of the New York association and appointed to head the new council, pointed to an increasingly collapsing distribution network and said the formation of NFBS will strengthen bonds between industry leaders. The goal is to help businesses through solving issues in a timely and more efficient manner, he said.

An estimated 1,000 businesses are members under NFBS organizations.
